Brief about the job:

• Primary role is to step into established product delivery teams and manage multiple releases of multiple products of commercial software to customers
• Will manage 2 - 3 releases in parallel at any given time
• Training overlap from Jan/Feb to Mar/early April

Note: Only TPM candidates with extensive commercial software release management experience will be considered for this role.

• Program managers without release experience will not be considered
• Engineering managers w/o TPM experience will not be considered
• Professional services, GTM TPMS with ‘delivery’ experience but not release experience, will not be considered.

The Product and Engineering team in the Cloud Native Business Unit is looking to bring on a Senior Technical Program Manager contractor to join a team of TPMs focused on driving complex and cross-cutting initiatives, programs and releases to meet our top objectives and key results to delight our customers.

In this role, you will take charge using your technical leadership, release management and program management skills to drive execution and delivery with high quality for these key initiatives.

You will be responsible for collaborating across multiple product lines and managing dependencies and deliverables for multiple programs and releases. You will be working with a global team of software engineers who develop new features and capabilities with a rapid rate of change. You will be responsible for managing multiple releases in a dynamic and fast paced environment.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO BRING TO THIS ROLE...

• MS in computer science, MBA or engineering management equivalent preferred.
• Minimum 8+ years of experience as a Technical Program Manager leading product delivery teams for enterprise commercial software organizations
• Minimum 8+ years of experience in delivering enterprise commercial software releases in a dynamic environment●
• Jira Cloud guru … can quickly come up to speed with the team’s use of Jira, build complex filters,dashboards as needed to have high confidence in the data behind the status.
• Demonstrated strong analytical and problem solving skills.
• Big picture thinker providing clarity on what we are trying to accomplish, understanding of the business objectives and driving the outcome for the program.
• Self starter and extremely high confidence in TPM discipline to serve as release subject matter expert and quickly build credibility with teams at all levels and hold teams accountable for dates and deliverables, with savvy to know when to ask for help to remove roadblocks.
• Experience in managing projects throughout the entire SDLC, including investigation, design, planning, execution and delivering products to market on schedule, and addressing customer feedback in development. Solid knowledge of end-to-end SDLC best practices.
• Drive content, schedule and overall delivery of the program and set it up for success in the field and customer base for overall Go-To-Market readiness and New Product Introduction.
• Make trade-offs and timely decisions, drive accountability for delivery and ensure that the objectives of the program are met.
• Solid project and technical judgment; ability to influence multiple functions across the organization.
• Strong team and customer focus.
• Take ownership of the product experience, product quality and associated health metrics.
• Set goals for the program, track and constantly communicate to stakeholders as well as executive leadership.
• Ensure corrective actions and risk mitigations are in place as needed to keep programs and releases on track.
• Be the single point person for delivery decisions, exec and cross team communication and working with various functional groups to deliver the program.
• Overcome obstacles by resolving issues, regardless of team boundaries, and identify and resolve teamwork issues.
• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact with technical and non-technical, cross-functional groups.
• Advanced understanding and extensive use of Jira Cloud/Confluence Cloud in software development program management and release management.
• Highly proficient in #slack or equivalent collaboration platform for team communication.
